What I want you to know....

I have been trying to figure out what the point of this blog is. In the beginning it was just a fun way to document our daily life in words and pictures. I love reading blogs and some of the best ones seem to have a purpose. That purpose is always hugely relevant which I'm guessing is how they become so popular.

It's becoming clearer to me what I have been called to do in this life. So many people are meant to do huge things and be in the spotlight. I'm not. Did you see "The Bible" on the History channel? Because it was one of the most viewed shows I'm guessing it impacted SO many lives. Mine is one of them. There are so many details that hit me hard while watching it but one struck me like a lightning bolt. Moses. He was hugely important and yet he stayed pretty close to home.

I am realizing more and more the most important thing I can do is teach my children how to love like Jesus. I don't want to take that lightly either. I want them to not only know, but also to feel His love, peace, and hope. I want them to know that there is hope because living in this sad and broken world it is so easy to get lost in pain. Raising kids who know His deep love can change the world because wouldn't it be a better place if that's what we all tried to do?

So I want this blog to become just that. I want to document what is so important for them to know. Sure, I'll post lots of pictures and talk about our trips to the day. But mixed in with all that I deeply hope and pray my kids will see Him through my life and our adventure.

My poor booga boy

My poor sweet little guy cannot catch a break. We've battled a double ear infection, two more ear infections in his right ear, croupe, and now the worst ever case of diaper rash! :( I'm so proud of my tough little guy though! He hasn't been super whiney or cried much. Through it all he has maintained his happy attitude and still loves his blankies, cheeze-its, and drink. He is such a great little guy and I'm so thankful God gave him to us!

This weekend....

This weekend was a busy, uneventful weekend. Unfortunately, our poor kidlets have been sick SO much! :( Barrett has battled a double ear infection, colds, coughs, and now croupe. Devany has been pretty well but has been pretty fussy and congested. I'm so ready for summer and healthy kids! We fit in lots of snuggles and some play time. We watched more cartoons than we probably should have and we let the house go to pot. But it's worth it. I can't believe how fast time flies and I don't want to regret missed cuddles just so I could clean.

Devany also went to park city for a night with a sweet friend and me. I'm so grateful for friends who deeply understand you. We squoze in good talks, goofed off, and vegged out to tv movies. I wouldnt have changed a thing. I found a wine that I actually enjoy and we ate lots of chocolate. We also went to dinner and breakfast. We even saw a moose on the way home!!! I would say it was a much needed girls night!

Changes ♥

I don't know about you guys but I am so sick of all the drama of facebook. The worst part is how easy it is to get caught up in it! :( I know I'm super guilty of that and I want to make a change. I feel like that's one thing I've accomplished this year; I've definitely become deliberate in what I want to accomplish and been working hard on those things. I am tired of the drama of facebook as well as how time consuming it is! I do love being able to catch up with people and see their pictures. I still want to have it for that reason. I am kind of following along in the trend and deleting facebook off my phone. I am hoping it will be a positive impact for my family and my emotional well being. In the meantime, I'm hoping I'll do better at blogging and posting pictures here as well as on instagram.

I know I haven't uploaded any pics for a while. I am sorry but I have been trying to spend as much time as possible with Barrett before he's no longer the only little one in the house... Anyway, here are a couple pictures from recently. You can see how big he's getting! And all that drool means only one thing: MORE TEETH! Yikes! haha :)

The newest thing he's been doing is talking on the phone. It's so funny he will put it up to his head and then just jibber jabber away. The best part is that he'll use his other hand to help him... Ha he's talking with his hands like his momma! :) I love this little guy so much! I am so thankful that he's a part of our life. :)

Our backyard is finally finished!

Barrett and I were watching the boys work and he was enjoying playing with a piece of sprinkler... Then we counted rocks while transferring them from cup to cup in his stroller...
Grandpa Ridl ran the trencher while TJ and Uncle Chris laid the sprinkler pipes in the ground... It sure got done quickly that way!
The sprinkler system that was in the ground was so messed up! Whoever had installed it had put in three times as much pipe and stuff [we think so he could charge more?] and it took all three of the guys to figure out what was going where. It was such a mess... It's so nice to know that it's all done right :)

The after photos! So nice! I love that there is nice grass for Barrett to crawl around in and he loves it too! As you can see, so does Bogey! Thanks guys for doing such an awesome job and making our backyard so perfect! :)
Again, I am going to play catch up. I'm sorry for slacking. My excuses are that I'm working three days a week, have class about two nights a week, chase Barrett around, planted a garden... I don't know that seems like a good enough reason for me to slack off on the blog. Anywho, here are my five catch up pics for project52. Some of them are just random and weren't actually taken on a Wednesday....
